American Legion Post seeks meeting space

American Legion Post No. 20 currently is without a meeting space to gather once a month and is seeking a facility where they can meet. Meetings currently are held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7 to 10 p.m.

Roughly 25 people attend the monthly meetings and the group is interested in purchasing and serving a meal during the meeting.

Bookbag giveaway planned Saturday

Saying Yes to Education 2010 will provide bookbags and school supplies for students beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Hart County Community Center in Hartwell.

Its goal is to provide bookbags and school supplies for students in need.
