► Meals needed for domestic violence support groups: 5-5:30 p.m. During many Project Safe programs dinner is provided for participants and their children to help caregivers balance family life with the expectations of the program. Restaurants, families, individuals, church groups or other volunteer organizations are needed to donate meals for up to 20 women and children. Meals can be homemade, store bought or catered from a restaurant. There is no kitchen available at the location to cook or warm food items. ► Theatre Ushers Needed: 6:30-10:30 p.m. Morton Theatre needs volunteers to serve as ushers for Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale.” Ushers will assist patrons with seating, locating restrooms, concessions, and other event-related needs. Ushers also are asked to assist Morton staff in keeping food and drinks out of the auditorium and checking the auditorium for lost articles at the event’s end. ► BikeAthens New Belgium cLips of Faith Movie Night: 7-11 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help set up the event, clean up after the event, to serve beer during the event and to sell merchandise during the event. Everyone will be trained the day of the event. Manual labor is needed for the set up and the take-down. Cash handling will be necessary for the merchandise sales. • Adult Volunteers needed to supervise clean up: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Adult volunteers are needed to supervise youth during the Brooklyn Cemetery Clean up service project and to lead the discussion/reflection session afterward. No prior experience with landscaping or facilitating discussion is required. All materials, including the discussion questions, will be provided on-site. • Brooklyn Cemetery - Clean up and Beautification: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to clear away overgrowth and undergrowth around headstones, clip small limbs and branches, pull weeds and invasive plants to reveal the grave sites and markings. Another task is to bring that debris, felled trees and limbs to the roadside for pickup or shredding. Dress appropriately for working in a wooded area. Be able to recognize and protect artifacts.
